Is The Ride Really Better With New Springs?

Is the ride better with new coil and leaf springs?  How much do these lose their "spring" after sixty-five years?  Would it be noticeable with nothing to compare with?

If they have softened enough to sag then it might affect the ride but if the car is sitting at the correct height then I doubt that new springs, manufactured to OEM specifications, would change the ride.

Three word answer....Oh Hell Yes!

Put new springs on the old 37 back in 1990......NOS new springs and shackels, all the way around.  Combined with a suspension rebuild and new king pins and brakes and ya'd have thought the car was only two hours old.

At 65, we all need new springs!

Biggest change was stability and sureness of the ride.  Yes, it was a package deal and not just springs alone but.....at 65.......

I'm not sure about going back to correct "stock" springs improving the ride but switching the front coils out to new moog progressive rate ford aero star coil springs improved the handling of my 40 Plymouth an unbelievable amount, plus they were a direct swap in and kept the car at a stock looking ride height.

Do you have a part number for the springs

I do believe the number of the springs is CC850, manufactured by Moog.
