Howard Tarnoff Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 I'm looking for a source for the "horse shoe" shaped clip for the ROUND ignition coil from Langdon. A supplier and part number would be very helpful. Found that a #14 wire was run from the ignition switch to the coil and a bung job - Crimp Clips and Silicone - was used. So much for paying someone to do these things. I tried search here and on google and get nothing. Quote
steveplym Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Not sure which clip you mean. I put my round coil in the original coils position, and used a clip on the top terminal that connects two wires. Maybe that's what you mean? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) if he were to search using the term "coil mount" he would be flooded with returns..it is not a clip... Edited July 25, 2015 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
steveplym Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 If it came with the kit from Langdon, I would give him a call. I bet he can get you a replacement. Otherwise I may need a picture. Quote
deathbound Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 He's not looking for a "coil mount", I believe he's looking for the wire connectors that slide on the terminals on the coil. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) oh..I remember those things from the time I worked for Ford as a wrench...they were a pain int he butt back then as they would be for today...you cannot make conncetions for test with them for flip...could not understand why one would want to tie their own hands behind their back.. again, call it by what it is...not a clip...but a connector....be easier to find http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=daisy+buck+bb&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X1975+ford+coil+connector.TRS0&_nkw=1975+ford+coil+connector&_sacat=0 Edited July 25, 2015 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
deathbound Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 So that connects to the coil & picks up both connections.....I don't know what's uglier, that connector or the square HEI coil that comes with Langdon's set-up. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 and imagine...someone thought a light came on when this was designed..... Quote
Dave72dt Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Those are a common stocked part at your local auto parts store and if not, can be had in a day or two. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 I am very unclear on what exactly you are looking for??? Quote
