Have you seen this one.....1948 Buick convert...."derelect" update

One of the reasons this type of work is popular is the expense of body and paint work. Take that money and put it into the chassis and drivetrain and you have something you can have a blast in and not worry about dings and dirt. My buddy and I have done this on several trucks. However we used original frames and adapted to them.

The first P15 convertible I ever met was kind of like the Buick.........it was faded maroon original paint, everything on the car

was original back in 1959......except for the Dodge truck Red Ram Hemi (or maybe it was a poly) engine.  I didn't know

enough about engines back then to tell the difference. But it was "cool"............    So that's why I looked and looked until

I found a P15 convert, even though mine still has a six.  I just like the looks.

cool presentation video - I really enjoy watching Jay Leno enjoying so much "coon fingering" the buick...! You really see and hear how much he likes the cars he's presenting.

Even if I'd rather have my buick slow & sloppy with that 2-speed dynaflow and straight eight, I have to appreciate the workmanship and engineering of the modernization done by Icon Garage.

Thanks for sharing!

A very cool car, and I'll sidestep the whole patina thing by saying: "it's a sleeper".

A sleeper can look rusty,or "square", or hillbilly-barn-brush-painted, or have one green door, or whatever.

The object is to take people by surprise & that Buick does it well.

Well it's looks are 2 giant steps above PP's "patina"!

But that is only one persons opinion. ;)

Would love to drive the Buick even if it is a boat- A Hot Boat. :)
