Thomba48 Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 I know, this is not the right place for it, but I shall try anyway :-) I found this offer http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/chrysler/new_yorker/1692117.html?refer=alert I would very kindly be interested in the opion of all your experts out there :-) Would that be a good deal? What would I have to bear in mind in regard to this particular model? thanks again Quote
Young Ed Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 Not sure if its a good deal but it sure is a nice looking car! Interesting from the description it says it has a factory option gas heater. If you look at the engine pictures there is an odd piece on the pass firewall that appears to say mopar and south wind on it. who knew? Quote
wayfarer Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) ...well, you certainly could not duplicate the car for the price... I like the 'OBO' part the best. You might also ask the guys on the ForwardLook forum. http://www.forwardlook.net/ Edited October 22, 2014 by wayfarer Quote
Thomba48 Posted October 22, 2014 Author Report Posted October 22, 2014 No duplication certainly would not work for that price :-)))) Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 I wonder if the car being Florida has anything to do with having a gas heater. Possibly it was ordered new "heater delete" and then dealer installed after delivery. Too bad they didn't delete the A/T and get a 3 speed w/ OD ! Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Nice looking original car. Yes, I too have seen the gas heater option also available on the 300's - i think through 1958. Thats a nice car to drive too! I think $12,000 would be a super buy! Quote
Thomba48 Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 By the way - do you all happen to have any idea how I could organise an "objective" appraisal of the state of the car (the paint job always tends to be overpraised etc., rust issues often understated, part and engine repair needs often get lost in the information stage etc) and what needs to be done form over here? thanks Quote
