Merle Coggins Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Got a call from my ol' buddy, Bill Pingel, a couple days ago. "Whatcha doing Thursday night? I'm trying to make a Dodge truck night at McDonalds. You haven't been down here in a while. You should come down this week." "Sounds good. I should be able to make it." So I snuck out of work a little early so I could get home and get my truck, then fight rush hour traffic through Milwaukee for the 40 mile drive down to Racine. A couple others that he was trying to round up didn't make it, but we did have 3 Pilot House trucks there. 7 Quote

MBF Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 That's cool. There were three at our weekly cruise last week along with 3 other Dodge trucks. We convoyed home together-a great night! Quote

Jeff Balazs Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 That's cool Merle. I kinda like that two tone truck. It is true you don't ever seem to see too many in one spot. I wonder if the majority of the runners belong to members here? I know there are always several for sale in SoCal on CL. I suppose they will remain thin on the ground for a while longer. Takes more of a commitment to restore or revive one of these than some of the others. Jeff Quote
Merle Coggins Posted September 19, 2014 Author Report Posted September 19, 2014 Yes it was a nice night and fun to have a few together. The green/yellow one is Bill's. The yellow one belongs to a guy named Joe. He's from Kenosha and I've never met him. I doubt that he's a member here. I didn't get a chance to talk with him much. Here's a shot from the rear. That's not Bill that you see sitting behind his truck he was sitting next to that guy, behind the guy standing. There's Bill (on the right) weighing up some squash to sell to the other gent. Bill has a good size garden and grows and sells vegetables as a retirement hobby. There was a late 80's Dodge truck in the row behind us, but I failed to snap a picture of it before he left. So I suppose you could say there were 4 Dodge trucks there. One of the other ones that Bill was trying to get there belongs to Ralph Malicki. He doesn't come on the forum much. You'll see him more on the Facebook page. He is the one that stopped in but didn't bring his truck. He was too busy to get home and get it. He just had a few minutes to stop in and check things out. Here is a picture of his truck that I took a couple months ago. Bill did mention that he knew of another nicely restored Pilot House truck in the area. He's seen it and tried to get that guy to come too. Apparently he wasn't able to either. So there was a potential of 5 at that little show. That would have been AWESOME! Merle Quote
