Did Plymouth actually ever build a Town Sedan in 1942??

My daughter and son in law got me some old Plymouth magazine ads as a birthday present.

The seller had put the date of the year of the magazine  from which the ads came on the

packaging.

Anyway, the 1942 double page ad shows all models available for '42, including the Town

Sedan.  It says "Here's a smart new design to win admiration wherever you go...a low,

rakish car...styled to stay beautiful for years to come!  All Plymouths have rotary type

safety door latches."  It shows a four door car with non-suicide rear doors that open from

the rear.

I figure someone has some knowledge about that.

Don't believe I've ever seen such an animal.

I know Dodge made a town sedan in that era.

I think this came up one time long ago and that the only year Plymouth offered the TS was 1942...I would say this would be a very exclusive vehicle..

Bob, you brought this very subject up yourself it seem on my search in the archives...see this posting...

They did. A member of the Prairie Region restored one in the 80's. Beautiful car! He wanted to sell me this car a few years ago. He's in his late 80's now.
