Htchevyii Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Hi guys, this was in a box of parts with the truck that I bought, 1950, b2b. It this for this truck? It doesn't have much for a core, will it really make heat? Quote
ggdad1951 Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 the "proper" heaters for our trucks are "MoPaR Truck Master" heaters, they are more square with a round pressed in medallion on the front. You can search the forum for several threads showing the heaters. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 For many cars and trucks of this era the addition of a heater was optional. The factory "comfort master" heater was the one supplied by the factory if ordered. There were many aftermarket manufactures of heaters that were either dealer installed or owner installed. Personally I think some of the aftermarket heaters look great. Quote
55 Fargo Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Here is my heater box in the 55 Fargo, not a "Mopar Truck Master", did not have one in complete or decent form sso used this. The defrost is not overly powerful, the heater blower out of the box is. I also made a 3 dollar voltage reducer for it, it works great. 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 reading the crime scene as I see it...this appears to be a defroster unit by the very design of the "Y" ducting.... Quote
Paul Beard Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Your picture is similar to what I have in my "53" truck. Mine does not have any heater core in it. Mine is located on the floor centered under the dash and can be connected to the defroster vents with hoses. Mine sucks the warm air from the floor and blows it up to the windshield defroster vents.
