wayfarer Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) Holiday greetings to all. I received, through my website, an email from Piyush at dhwani-impex and the message was : I make various parts for DPCD cars of yesteryears, for eg.Transmission small parts kit, universal joint repair kit (for ball and pin type),universal joints, axle oil seals etc, please contact if any interest. Has anyone heard of or possibly dealt with this company? Edited December 26, 2013 by wayfarer Quote
Old Ray Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 No but, …….always a but, .......huh? On my last project I needed leaf springs and a company in Florida had repo mustang ones that fit the bill, something like a hundred dollars for the pair plus shipping. When they came, they were stamped made in India, I know they have cheap labor (for now) but how can they ship them around the world add some profit and still sell that cheap? So far so good, they haven’t broken yet? Quote
TodFitch Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 That company contacted my years ago to have me carry their product. One of the problems with that is that while I run a Plymouth related web site I'm not in the parts business. However I've wondered from time to time if they aren't the supplier of the sealed canister oil filters that places like Roberts still sell but which have not been manufactured by a mainstream company in well over a decade. They show a lot more items now than when I first saw that page. Back then it was basically just the oil filter. See: http://dhwani-impex.com/product_OEM_pic1.htm#A1 Quote
casper50 Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) quite the range of merchandise. Nuts/cashews, car parts and hand carved wooden products. Edited December 26, 2013 by casper50 Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 I've known about them for many years, and suspect they are the source for many of the repops being sold by Mopar vendors. Quote

TodFitch Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 interesting,,,im guessing you order direct from india? I haven't ordered anything from India. If the generic "you" is meant, I guess one might order direct from India if they could determine that the party at the other end had what they wanted in terms of quality and price and that they were reputable to deal with. JerseyHarold Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 The place in India probably wouldn't deal with individuals directly...they'd probably want to know that you're a business or at least in a position to buy relatively large quantities of what they are selling. Quote

No doubt they will buy from other vendors if that is cheaper for them, but they specialize in low volume stuff which is not as amenable to offshore production. Quote

Yes they do have their own machine shop . They advertise that if they don't have the part , they will make it . I live in Stockton California and they are a few miles from me . When I bought parts from them their price was a little high but it evened out as I didn't pay shipping . They also were helpful by labeling my springs shackles left and right . Quote
