wayfarer Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 I spotted this on another forum and it has folks a bit baffled. The lever opens/closes the vent, but to what purpose? This seat is from a '42 truck BTW. No indications that any thing was ever mounted under the 'vent', nothing on the floor. I've seen some odd-ball stuff from MaMopar but this is a good one. Any thoughts? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 usually this style seat with the vent control is fully covered/enclosed ..it adjusts the exchange of air beneath the seat and controls ride comfort...this device was in my 41 Dodge truck but again..the seat bottom was full enclosed...and yes 'baffled' is a good term here.. Merle Coggins Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Yes, in the Pilot-House trucks they called it an Air-O-Ride seat. There should be a heavy cardboard type of material closing off the bottom of that seat. Then, like Tim says, you can control the air within the seat to change the firmness of the seat. Without the bottom covering it's pretty much useless. Merle Quote
wayfarer Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 MaMopar never ceases to amaze me Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 A picture of my seat I replaced the cardboard in with water proof material... 1 Quote
