Drifter99 Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 The connecting rod in my #1cylinder has #3 stamp on it the rest of the cylinders are correct. My question is can you swap odd for odd even for even rods to cylinders, evidently some one has been in it. The head gasket was blown between #1and number #2 cylinders when I got the engine don't know if that has ant correlation . Thanks for any input. Robin Quote
TodFitch Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 Parts book has listings for "Connecting Rod Assembly (less bearings)" and lists two numbers. One for cylinders 1-3-5 and the other for 2-4-6. Quote
Drifter99 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Report Posted December 9, 2013 Thanks Todd good news is always good news . Thanks for looking Quote
Dave72dt Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 It would appear that the rods have a bit of offset to them. It should have no correlation to the blown gasket other than the possibility of the head not being retorqued after the initial heat cycle following repair. Quote
Drifter99 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Report Posted December 9, 2013 Thats what was thinking Dave just thought I would throw all the variables out there. The retourque must not have been done the gaskets seem fairly new. Thanks Quote

TodFitch Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 If you care, '33 standard sized connecting rods are 600731 for 1,3,5 and 600732 for 2,4,6. There is a different pair of numbers for 0.010 undersized. Quote
