BobT-47P15 Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 This DeSoto.....in need of a fair amount of work. No one around it, have no idea of the asking price. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Bob, Probably too much. He should have at least rolled those wheels around to get the flat spot on the top and put some on the rear. Maybe that would add a few thousand to the price. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Those beasts are just.."huge" did you notice what powerplant was in it? Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Tim, The last one I saw in that condition had a 6 banger in it. Helped a guy load it on his trailer after he bought it from a farmer for $50. That was about 7 or 8 years ago. The guy who bought it was a street rodder and had a 49 Mercury. The only reason he bought the car was for the grille to put in his Merc. street rod. Floors were shot. In fact to jack the rear end out of the mud he climbed into the trunk and stood on the ground. :D No metal on that part of the floor at all. I took the electric wiper setup and the generator. He said he was going to pull the gauges and sell those, then junk the rest of the car. Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 The front fender would have a "Custom" emblem if it had a flathead. This one looks like it has the "Firedome" emblem on the fenders, which means it has the early Hemi. Quote
mackster Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 This one looks like it has the "Firedome" emblem on the fenders, which means it has the early Hemi. Assuming that it is still in there, I bet someone pull the engine and then was lookng to sell the left overs... Quote
Young Ed Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Front end doesn't look high enough to be engineless. Quote
Fireball Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 That pile is low enough even without airbags, nice stance. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Front end doesn't look high enough to be engineless. I agree, if the engine had been pulled the front end would be standing several inch's higher than it is now, even with the flat tires. Quote
