RobertKB Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) I came across this set of three brake hoses for '51 Plymouth for under $24.00. I have a '51 Canadian Dodge that is basically the same chassis as the Plymouth so they would work for me. I am just wondering if anyone on the forum has bought from this company and if the quality is good? They are located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Shipping also seems more than reasonable. I have no connection to the company. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/51-52-PLYMOUTH-CRANBROOK-CONCORD-Brake-Hoses-DOT-NEW-/171165980246?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27da499656&vxp=mtr#ht_2694wt_1264 Edited November 7, 2013 by RobertKB Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 There was a guy in some country selling new stuff sometime back. Don't know if this would be him in a different location. Quote
Andydodge Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 Different country but I used to get a lot of NOS, genuine US made, still in the box engine parts from a couple of guys in Turkey, yep the Instanbul version........lol...........this was on ebay, generally in the 1948 Plymouth listings even tho' I had a 1941 Plymouth...you just had to know what fitted......they tended to list 20-30 lots at a time and were easy to deal with, cheap and packed promptly and well, was especially good when the Oz paso was down against the greenback.......anyway I'd check what the postage is as that can be a problem but its a big world now..........lol.......andyd Quote
desoto1939 Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 You can get the same hoses at your local napa dealer and not have to pay postage. It may be a little more for the hoses but figure in postage and if there is any issue then you have to send them back. Deal local and then you start to establish a contact and then you can get them to look up other parts for you. I will look in my wagner book for the Brake Hose number for your 51. RobertKB Posted November 7, 2013 Author Report Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) I have bought from the guys in Turkey and been satisfied as well. Shipping for the brake hoses from Argentina to Canada is only $12 with a 10-21 day estimated delivery time. I am just hoping some forum member has bought from them and can indicate the quality of the product. I am pretty sure I have seen these brake lines advertised before and possibly discussed on this forum but a forum search doesn't bring up anything. I can't buy a single hose in Canada for the price of these three including shipping. Rich, I have bought locally for years from both NAPA and a couple of really good local auto stores. As said. just hoping someone has bought from Argentina and cannot provide feedback. Edited November 7, 2013 by RobertKB Quote
Furylee2 Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 I bought a set for my 41 coupe from this guy. Didn't take that long to get (I was in no hurry). I installed them along with newly sleeved wheel cylinders (from Hagen's) this summer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/39-40-41-42-PLYMOUTH-P7-P9-ROADKING-P8-P10-DELUXE-BRAKE-HOSE-SET-X3-2FR-1RR-/360778846144?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5400184fc0#ht_3574wt_1342 I wonder if it's the same guy. Different seller name but likely the same guy as both are in Buenos Aires. Were you satisfied with the product being offered? Fit and length were good? Quote
Furylee2 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 Worked great. The fronts were a little shorter than the ones I removed, but not short enough to make a difference. Besides, who knows if they were the original length. I asked my mechanic buddy about finding hoses before I ordered these, and he said he usually just takes the old ones to the parts store, and tries to find something close. Quote
RobertKB Posted November 8, 2013 Author Report Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) OK, thanks. I think I will go ahead and order a set. I will let the forum know the results. Edit - order is in and I will report back upon receiving them. Edited November 8, 2013 by RobertKB Quote
1950 Special Deluxe Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 I bought from him for my 52 Dodge 1/2 ton. I installed them this summer, they fit fine. I cannot report on their function yet as it has made about 6 trips from beside my house to the garage.(about 40 feet per trip) Quote
