GORDON WRIGHT Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I had my 1949 Dodge Ute pass mechanical inspection for licencing today, its been hanging around since 1994 and not licenced since 1974 in another state of Aus. Problem now is that Transport WA wants proof that I own it. Was given to me by my wifes parents in 1994, they have both passed on since then but I am the executor of their estates. It seems that I must provide copies of death certificates, wills and my executor appointment by supreme court, before Transport will accept my Statuary Declaration that I am the owner. Isnt Government authority wonderful? 3 Quote
Dave72dt Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) Can't blame the gov for being suspicious. After seeing the truck, I'd like to declare it was mine too. Looks really nice. Edited July 16, 2013 by Dave72dt Quote
ggdad1951 Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 yep, remember they are there to protect us from ourselves! Nice Ute! Quote
Desotodav Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Great looking old ute Gordon. I'm sure that your parents would be proud of what you have achieved. Would love to see more photos of it. I had a similar problem a couple of years back with Queensland Transport, but I was fortunate to be dealing with a transport worker who worked with me rather than against me. I wish you well. Quote
pflaming Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Dang: you guys down under sure know how to 'rub it in'! Some of us may have to take up residency in UK and buy one for ourselves. Quote
Desotodav Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I was thinking a while back Paul when I think it was Reg that said he wouldn't mind swapping my coupe truck for his 57'ish truck. It really wouldn't be that hard for you guys to place one of our ute bodies on your running gear over there. You could use your 2 floor/firewall panels, and the dash could be reversed easy enough (as long as you got a B1 with the steering wheel under the dash rather than through it). I think that you might have enough project-wise on your plate for now though Paul !!! Quote
