Don Coatney Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 I will be staying at a Ramada Inn just off I44 and Harvard. Mr Coatney, whom I have met previously, will be staying there also. And, assuming he makes it to town then, Robert VanBuskirk from Indianapolis will be at the same location. Where is everyone else going to be???? As I recall, will arrive Thursday evening and also stay Friday night. Will still be in town on Saturday, but the kids were planning to go on to another city and we were going to stay Sat night with a friend in Tulsa. Bob and all; I have a new cell phone number and I was going to post a new thread to all attending to PM or E-mail me with there cell or contact information but this thread will work. I will be hitting the road Wednesday and plan on arriving in Tulsa Thursday same as you before the Friday attractions. As you mentioned I am booked into the Ramada. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 It's kind of short notice for you guys to have shirts made up. You could just copy the logo in the upper left corner and save it on your computers. Then buy some heat transfer paper at the office supply store' date=' like Office Max or Office Depot. Then you can print the logo onto the transfer paper and either put it on a shirt or hat with your wifes iron. It's real easy to do.Another thing you can do is what people do at large swap meets when they are looking for something or selling something with out a booth. Make a sign out of card stock, attach a string to it and wear it around your neck. Another thing is for each of you to post a picture of yourself. Then people can print it off and take the pictures with them so you can identify each other. That's why most here can identify Don Coatney. He's posted many pictures of his self and his car. Bob Toft has also posted several pictures of his self over the years. I would also suggest setting up a central meeting place at a certain time for everyone to meet. You could even set up two or three times (or more) to make sure everyone has a chance to get there. In short, make a schedule of some type to make sure you all get together. Someone could even act as a sign up host at the hotel they are staying at. Then when someone arrives in town, they go to your hotel and either contact you there or leave a message as to what hotel they are in. That way the host could call that person at their hotel and tell them where and when everyone is meeting. Just a few suggestions.[/quote'] I vote for norm to be the contact person and to do so he must drive his car (assuming it actually runs) to Tulsa! Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 ... I created a vector version of the logo and converted it to a larger higher resolution jpeg version which can be seen at this link: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/bojeta/Graphics%20Projects/P15D24-for-shirt-web.jpg David; You talked about driving your Plymouth to this de-toumbing long before your Plymouth was on the road. I was looking forward to meeting you there. Are you not coming? Quote
Normspeed Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Like the old song says, "Them that's got is them that gets" Any doubts that this will end up a special on Boyd's TV show? So if i read that right, nobody is going to see the unearthing, except on the net, then boyd will start the car that has been in the ground for 50 years "without altering it" and I could stand in line to get his autograph, yeee hawww! Don Coatney Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Is there a bigger version of the P15-D24 logo available for us to make a one-off tshirt out of? GTK - Help! It would certainly be nice to be able to ID some of the other P15-D24 players. Everyone will recognize Don C....he's ..... he's.........distinguished. Jonny; How will I find you? BobT-47P15 Posted May 24, 2007 Author Report Posted May 24, 2007 I take it from Normspeed's post that the Tulsa lady has had lots of email from car guys about Boyd. That answers my earlier question. Guess I will be first to post my picture since someone brought that subject up. Actually second, I guess, after that nice photo of Don and his tools. Quote
David Maxwell Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 My daughter starts school at Cal Poly SLO this summer and my son has started an underwater welding program. Between the two of them and rising gas prices, I'm getting a little concerned that my teaching salary won't quite be enough to do everything I want to. Still, I'm going to give my best sales pitch to Lydia and remain hopeful. Don't have a room booked, but since Lydia would not be going, I can hang with pretty much any non-red light district room. LOL! David David; You talked about driving your Plymouth to this de-toumbing long before your Plymouth was on the road. I was looking forward to meeting you there. Are you not coming? Quote
Guest P15-D24 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 David, re the logo, check your email. GT Quote

greg g Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Hey Johnny S, it is probably to late to mention this, but them UHAUL trailers have a hinged fender on the drivers side that allow you to fold it out of the way so non NASCAR entry and egress can be affected. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Those make a difference..when my bud was doing his racing thing we modified his trailer to hinge out of the way...made putting off and on the trailer a breeze Quote
PatS.... Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 These on my nephews trailer are hinged as well. It's a converted travel trailer chassis. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Tim.....no menkee. Just a hat......... Quote
Johnny S Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Hey Johnny S, it is probably to late to mention this, but them UHAUL trailers have a hinged fender on the drivers side that allow you to fold it out of the way so non NASCAR entry and egress can be affected. Oh....now you tell me! I guess never too old too learn. And, the photo sequence made for some real laughs. The crazy thing is that wasn't the only time (on this trip) that I "had" to do it. When I unloaded the car I unhooked everything, jumped in the window, started her up and tried to back her down the ramps........oops......forgot the safety chain. So, back out the window, unhook the chain, back in the window and then off the trailer. Glad to know I have an option if I ever use a U-Haul again. My body may never twist and turn that way again!!!. I think it was the adrenaline rush that made all the parts work together like that one last time....... Quote
