I know this is a stupid question, but i don't find the answer in my manual or in other threads on the forum.

I am finished putting in my OD trans and want  to hook it up.  A couple of the wires go to battery and ignition terminals of the horn relay.  i beleive it (horn relay)  is on the firewall, but want to make sure.

Can someone post a picture or tell me where the horn relay is on a '49 Plymouth?

Thanks

I think it's on the firewall.  Looked for a picture, but couldn't find one.  I think I've removed them from

49 or early 50s cars and that's where they were.

On a P15, the relay is right on the horn bracked.

Follow the heavy wire that comes out of the lower section of  the steering box. It should go to the horn relay. It should look something like this.

Interesting you should bring this up. My 47 has the horn relay in front between the 2 horns. 4 terminals. The 48 has the relay on the inside fender near the battery. People keep telling me there is no difference between 47 and 48 but I keep finding subtle differences. The 48 relay also has 4 terminals but in a different configuration. I was checking the schematic and it just shows wires going to 1,2,3,4 but doesn't say which is which. I hooked it up wrong nothing happened - next day the battery was dead.

Yes as you have discovered there is an early and late wiring configuration.

So..............Woodie.............did ya ever find that relay?     And if so, where was it?

Been on the road last week, back to the car this week.

Mine is on the firewall, which I suspected was the case. Shels pictures confirmed it, I just was not sure what it looked like.

Thanks all for your help.
