pflaming
Since I put in new glass, I do not know how to level them. I had the regulators out and I cleaned and lubed them so they should move easily but they do not. Suggestions?
Plymouthy Adams
question #1...is the glass the correct width and did it move freely up and down in the channel prior to attaching to the regulator?...did you replace the channel seals? Scruffy49
Make sure the glass moves freely on its own. Crank the regulator as far down as it will go, hold the glass level and steady in the channel, crank the regulator up to meet the glass. Loosen the regulator mounting screws, wiggle it until it is level with the glass base, tighten down the screws. Let the glass slide down into the holder and crank it closed. If it now works right, afix the glass to the channel and call it good. Had to do that with a glass swap on my 69 D100. Has worked fine since early 2007. My PH regulators are junk. The passenger side teeth feel like they are gone. Power window conversion will fix that... cheaper than a new regulator.
Merle Coggins
My windows were difficult to roll up at first too. I loosened up the regulator and track screws, then realigned everything. It seems that the window would get cocked in the track and would bind. Once I got everything adjusted right they roll up and down nicely now. You just have to fiddle with them a bit. pflaming
To finish a truck it seems alot of things need to be 'fiddled' with and the music is not all that good in the process. Thanks guys, getting close but I learned a while back, this hobby is not horse shoes.
Plymouthy Adams
it may not be horse shoes but it is easier if you remove the shoes from the horse first...
