BobT-47P15 Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) I know having some advertising on here should be a good thing. But these companies who produce the ads evidently all think the only way to attract attention is to have them flashing, jumping and intruding on you. Hate to complain.....but....... *****edit.........after I wrote the above, I'm not sure the ads I referred to were on this site as some wierd stuff seemed to be going on with my laptop which I was using. Ads were flashing and popping up and things like that. So, may be I am wrong. Will just wait and see............ Currently using my desktop computer. Edited March 9, 2013 by BobT-47P15 Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted March 9, 2013 Author Report Posted March 9, 2013 Yeah........I guess popups are new new flashbacks. I think the cat had walked on the keyboard of my laptop.....no telling What buttons he pushed........... That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. Quote
Don Coatney Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Bob; I suggest you clear all history on your laptop, run the disc cleanup tool, and do a power reset. If you do this about once a week you will find that your computer runs much better. Quote
greg g Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 I just downloaded and ran this on my laptop. It clean up registry errors, stuff left over from uninstalls, unrelated DLL files and the like, and also your temporary files. Seems to have made a difference in response. Make sure you only download the one from the piriform.com website as there are several clones out there who aren't what they say they are. You will need to re log into sites you have the remember me stuff for your screen name and pass words. this was recommended by the guy who writes a tech column in the local paper. I have used several of his recommendations, and found them safe and effective. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Quote
WatchingWolf Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 I have been a loyal CCleaner fan for years. It actually manages the features that are already incorporated into your windoze operating system and makes them easy to access and use. Top NOTCH! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 Thanks for the input guys. Will have to try something. I hate it when a program removes all my ID and passwords from stuff......some of my passwords are consistent, and others are not. I have to keep a list so I can remember what's what. Quote
