Joe Flanagan Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 I just priced windlace at Restoration Specialties. They sent me some samples along with some other stuff I ordered. Very nice, $2.50 per foot. I'm going to make my own but I thought I'd post the information for anyone who's looking for windlace. Joe Quote
builtfercomfort Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 Can you post a picture of the samples? Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted January 4, 2013 Author Report Posted January 4, 2013 It seems my camera has gone missing. As soon as I find it I'll take some pictures and post them. The samples look just like the originals, though, and they have a lot of different colors. Quote
Robert Horne Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 I bought my windlace at Walmart, sewing department. I recovered the windlace with black leather... Quote
Big_John Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 $2.95 a yard. I bought some and it looks OK to me. It's probably not as nice as some, but at almost 1/3 the price, it's worth a look. http://www.perfectfit.com/15308/154170/Bindings-Trims/Windlace--Automotive-Cloth-Covered.html Quote
Young Ed Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Were you able to buy "some" or did you buy the 50 yard roll? Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted January 5, 2013 Author Report Posted January 5, 2013 Great source. I never heard of them. I need 60 linear feet of this stuff. Is that 20 yards? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 you can get the cotton cord at your local JoAnns or other fabric store....you will need the 1/2 piping attachemnt if you sew your own..most of the stuff you get commercially today is foam core....source that from your local upholestry shop..never found it for sale at a fabric store yet..
