JIPJOBXX Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 I know most of the people love technology and this really shows how they put together the movies of the Hobits. Spend some time and enjoy it as I did! Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Hobbits........... I think we have finally seen the farthest away off topic that we can from mopars. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted December 18, 2012 Author Report Posted December 18, 2012 I guess you don't get the idea of why I put this up??? I thought it was kind of interesting to see how they can make such a movie and make it look so real. Our cars are an extension of ourselves and I know most of the people here have an inquisitive mind about life itself and how things work. This is why I put it up not because of Hobbits but because of the production processes that they use in making movies. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Hobbits........... I think we have finally seen the farthest away off topic that we can from mopars. Not really. Bilbo has to journey to Mordor to get dragon gold and many of us own mordors, ie four doors.........so there is a connection. Smaug, the dragon, is a homonym for smog, both of which can be dangerous to your health. I'm sure there are other connections with our cars. I enjoyed reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings movies were good but not as good as the books. This will probably be true of the Hobbit as well but then again, I always prefer books to the movies made from them. Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 I understand you both:)I've seen the movie already and really liked it......it takes liberties like the trilogy, but over all quite a watch. Robert, the first time I read the hobbit and lord of the rings trilogy was in 1969, "Frodo lives!" in my heart also....... I do not however see how computer generated effects have anything to do with this forum.... Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Posted December 19, 2012 They really don't its just the technology and the idea of just how do they do that? Lots of team work and lots of engineering to make up such a studio. Oh well guess I have an inquisitive mine. Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 if you want to see a neat movie trailer look up gangster squad.....kinda like mullholland falls...lots of neat cars. Quote
randroid Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Gents, Seems as though once the "OT" was added to the subject line it didn't make a pair of fetid Dingo kidneys what the content was. We aren't a forum for hurricanes or tragedies either but I didn't see anyone complaining about those posts, or is there a secret special "OT" that means something other than "Off Topic"? -Randy Quote

As for irrelevant stuff not pertaining to P15 D24 automobiles,I don't really have an opinion. Hurricanes ,tragedies and the like - I don't see anything wrong with posting these events...keeps me up to date on what's going on in the world.I believe there is a bit of camarderie that's been built up and is shared by a number of members on this forum and should they wish to share their experiences, opinions and events unfolding around them I see no harm... "OT" is a "heads up" that the thread is not related to P15 D24 automobiles,so I think pretty well everything is on the table and not subject to scrutiny as being suitable or unsuitable for those who wish to read further - and that is my opinion as well. Frank Elder Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Hobbits........... I think we have finally seen the farthest away off topic that we can from mopars. No where in this post did I say it didn't belong on this forum.......only that it was the farthest ot ever. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 No where in this post did I say it didn't belong on this forum.......only that it was the farthest ot ever. That's the way I took it. It was not a criticism, just a statement. I like quite a bit of the OT stuff and GTK is very generous letting us post it. Quote
