Plymouthy Adams Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 I had door sag/latch drag on this door from the day I got the project..the area about the A-post required some in depth repair work along with the normal rocker rust damage..long story short..new outer rocker, no sag or latch dragging, excellent cut lines of the door/opening..the inner rocker was real solid, requiring only a couple small patches and my normal acid treatment and heat flashing.. 40plyrod Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 There's nothing better than a car with nice door gaps and door that open and close well. Great looking job Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 old habits are hard to break..some new ones would be as hard to embrace.. I am a bacon, egg and hash brown type of guy, toast; no bisquits on the average though I do like bisquits, I make a rather full bodied omeltte..pancakes, French toast and or cereal on occassion.. T120 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 (edited) Tim, Maybe sometime when you're tired of the "same old, same old" - you might try Sadie Hawkin's fried Cream of Wheat. Nice work on the rocker. Edited December 2, 2012 by Ralph D25cpe Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 my cousin told me of some flour out there that is already seasoned and is 'similar' to taste of Colonel Sanders batter mix..now I have not seen this yet and have checked for it in three states now..but wonderful things could be made with this stuff if I could get my hands on some.. wife does make pancakes from left over mashed potatoes..and her famous twice baked potatoes...open to new stuff for certain..but as for the old stuff I have no fondness over, forget about it...!. the rockers are were easy..its making the overlay from scratch that is killing me.. Plymouthy Adams Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 while updating my log book on the coupe build I see that the 8th of this month marks the end of a year since starting officially on the project. Of those some 350+ days, I have 126 daily entires in the log book. Of those entires some are just notes of things bought or recieved in the mail. Ohter entires could be items ranging from about 15 minutes of work to numerous hours in a given day. I also was still working the 9-5er for 5 months of that time and was the era the major meat of the work was accomplished. So while I did not tract the hours I am still satisfied with the overall progress. I never set a deadline and try to keep the project fun and not "work". Time does fly when you having fun.. Quote

Just curious as to where you sourced your parts. I'm new to this so i'm reading, watching and taking notes on any information i can find from this site on a daily basis. Sent PM..a search here will net a number of company names to pick from. Most it seems do not have an online catalog or do internet correspondence..to that end they are not user friendly in my book. Quality and prices go hand in hand, that is about all I can say about most items except I have paid premo in the past for shoddy parts that had to be returned, I have paid moderate for great panels and have actually gotten best deals for what some call cheap prices.. first do a look-about process for what will suit you, your car, your budget and ultimate goal of end product. You will have to consider also who is fitting the panel and the tools they have to work with..if frmed out they may or may not work with the panel you buy from past experience with the company..I have not seen a panel yet that did not require a tad of modification here or there as per the specific application of each individual car..
