JerseyHarold Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 If the dealership has added a 'second window sticker' with dealer-installed add-ons, I'd leave the place in a hurry. It only gets worse from there. Quote
wayfarer Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Mileage is not great, 14 max, about 11 towing anything. Go figure! Gene I have heard this on numerous occasions as I have been pondering the replacement of my '02...guess that I'll just keep pondering.... Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 My new company truck is an F150 with the Ecoboost V6 engine, that they advertise as getting around 22 MPG. I have yet to average higher than 17, although it has come up after around 10,000 miles. It was hovering down around 16 when new. The salesman from the dealer told me it would take a while before the mileage would come up. I think it was just a way to blow smoke and distract me from making it an issue when new. Merle Quote

frankieflathead Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 I replied I will be mostly be driving forward but there will be some backing up involved. Now THAT'S funny! Nearly peed myself, I was laughin' so hard! Quote
greg g Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 I do new vehicle transfers for a local Dodge dealer. I have seen from 17.5 to 22 Mpg on the new Ram Hemis. Most of them are turning about 1250 Rpm in top gear at 70. Most of my trips are about 120 to 240 miles. Usually pretty much all highway. The mileage is figured by the dash computer not figuring a full tank to full tank calculation. But to me that seems pretty good for trucks with as few as 4 miles on them at time of pickup. It seems to me that mileage would go up as the engine and drive train wear in. so 17 to 22 unloaded seems like a pretty good start. Quote
austinsailor Posted April 1, 2013 Author Report Posted April 1, 2013 Mine is the newer diesel. Diesel mileage used to be better than gas on the bigger trucks. I might be wishing for my old 460 Ford again at this rate! Quote
