Jeff Balazs Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Hello All and Happy Fathers' Day; I have a Carter DTG1 carb on my fluid drive truck. It looks like it might be missing a screw. I have attached a photo of it and you can see a small hole in the air horn (inside the horseshoe shaped ridge) that looks like it might be missing a screw or fitting. Can anyone who knows' about these particular carbs shed some light on this? I have looked at all the diagrams I could find but this area does not show in the views I have seen. Thanks, Jeff Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted June 17, 2012 Author Report Posted June 17, 2012 Forgot to attach this photo:o Jeff Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 I'd have to say that all is good Jeff. I also have a DTG1 and there's nothing there on mine either. Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted June 17, 2012 Author Report Posted June 17, 2012 Thanks Merle; That is good....for the life of me I couldn't remember what would have been missing ? Funny though it looks like "summat ought to be there" Jeff Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 If your carb was mated to a M-6 Gyromatic transmission (Truck-O-Matic), that screw would be there holding down the anti-stall solenoid assembly. Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted June 17, 2012 Author Report Posted June 17, 2012 Wow! This group is really great. It sure looked like it was there for a reason.......now I know why. Thanks for clearing this up. Jeff Quote
caoverton Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 hi all, i have a '51 b3b fluid drive. the carburetor is a dtg1. (actual number is 6lo dtg1) 6-663 is on the top of the carb. I know it is a BB carter carb, but i've seen a lot of conflifting info on rebuild kits for fluid drives. Any one know of a seller with a complete kit? Quote
