  1. hi all, i have a '51 b3b fluid drive. the carburetor is a dtg1. (actual number is 6lo dtg1) 6-663 is on the top of the carb. I know it is a BB carter carb, but i've seen a lot of conflifting info on rebuild kits for fluid drives. Any one know of a seller with a complete kit?
  2. Thanks Merle, now I get it.. How much do I pack in there? Enough to fill the whole pump shaft?
  3. I don't understand the mechanics of the oil pump. '51 dodge B3..218 engine. I have to fix a leak at the oil pump cover plate. So when I took the cover plate off, the outer rotor fell out. I see there is a slot grooved in the outside of the outer rotor, like a woodruff key might fit in there, but can't see inside the pump where it would engage with another slot. Does the outer rotor spin as the inner is spun with the camshaft? Or is the outer supposed to be fixed with the woodruff key and the inner spins inside it? I am so new to this thing. I don't understand the mechanics of it.
  4. Thanks. currently the choke will only half close, as the vacuum assist line to the distributor is preventing it from closing all the way. I just saw this the other day, and like I said I am totally new to these old vehicles. Is there harm in leaving it, or not replacing the solenoid, or the levee to the carb?
  5. here are some pics of the Valve. It is on a T306 engine (218 cc) And One of the Truck.
  6. Hi, I am new to this stuff. Just bought a 1951 B3b. I am learning about this thing slowly, but found something I couldn't figure out. There is a valve of some sort in my front intake manifold. The valve is spring loaded, and there is a lever on it that looks like it might be moved with a cable of some sort. It is not the heat riser, 'cause it is just below it on the exhaust manifold. I don't have a clue.
