FlyingDutchman Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Howdy! I have a 1948 D24 sedan. Are there any rocker moldings out there in the world or something similar from say a 1948 Ford, etc. or a universal molding company? It's about the only piece that I am missing along with the stone guards. I'm not looking for perfect condition just something to keep the clip holes plugged up and water out. I consider rust 'charm' Also, were there wheel skirts for the D24? There's a set on this coupe: http://www.americandreamcars.com/1948dodgecp101707.jpg I could make some, but I'd really rather not. Rusty O'Toole Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 You could try the Fender Skirt King, he has them for most everything. For rocker panel moldings why not try to find the right ones. Advertise on this board, the AACA, check Ebay , Roberts Motor Parts, Andy Bernbaum. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 rocker molding..try mid 60's mustang Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Fender skirts were aftermarket items back then. I don't know if the dealers had them, or they came from an outside source like Foxcraft. They turn up on ebay sometimes, but can be pricey. Quote
yourpc48 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Did you try Dave Stromberg in Washington state. He gets stuff once in a while. He also fabricates some of the stuff. www.fatfenderedrelics.com See what he has available. I would sell you mine but mine are for a P15 coupe. Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Regarding to fender skirts: I bought a pair of glass fiber copies from Big Jim's of Texas, but unfortunately I cannot recommend them. Do not fit well and surface requires awfull lot of bondo, primer and sanding. The best ratings I've heard are for the Agape Auto Parts of Indiana. They make reproductions of period accessories and prices are not sky high. Pair of skirts were $275 a couple of yrs back, may be same price still. Compare to prices of used period parts on eBay (may be 3 times more and yet surface rust on them). follow the link: http://agapeautoparts.com/contact/contact.htm /Pekka Quote

greg g Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Dodge rockers are longer than P-15 as they share the longer wheel base of the larger cars. Quote
Phil Martin Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Got mine from agape for my 50 coronet 4 dr and they fit good. Quote
Mark D Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Found these skirts on Ebay just now - this is the same thing that I have on my car. The seller wants $275 for the pair. http://tinyurl.com/c284oqq Quote
Mark D Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Not sure Pekka, they came with the car when I bought it. But the fit is ok, and the clamp device at the center works really well. Quote
Phil Martin Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Those look just like mine from agape. Quote
