pflaming Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 I am working on the front suspension and I'm not a perfectionist besides at my age short term memory is not reliable:D Question: What tips do you use to 'assure' safety when reassemling. Do you use a paint pencil or . . . I do not want to make a mistake on this very important area. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 I always use a paint pencil and apply a small mark. That way you can go back in your mind and remember that you checked/tightened assembled that part or completed the repair- hopefully correct! Bob Quote

pflaming Posted April 30, 2012 Author Report Posted April 30, 2012 Which bolts do I torque and to what lbs? Is there a chart for this. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 There are standard bolt torque specs for common bolts. Here is one I found with a quick search. http://engineershandbook.com/Tables/torque.htm Some fasteners on your truck have a specified torque. To find those you'll need to reference a Shop Manual. Dodgeb4ya Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 The factory Dodge shop manual is a good reference for drive train torque specs on most parts. Quote
