Don St Peter Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I think I read in a post here that the torque value is 160 ft lbs. since I can' find in my service manual, could someone confirm or tell me right value. Thanks in advance Don Quote
Young Ed Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I believe the 46-54 book says minimum 160. That being said I haven't torqued mine. They go on with the air impact and get rattled until they absolutely stop turning. Quote
bamfordsgarage Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 My understanding is tight-as-tight-can-be. Be sure to check them again after a few hundred miles as they will sometimes settle in a wee bit on the taper and be slightly loose. Quote
TodFitch Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 142 ft-lbs. See http://www.ply33.com/Repair/torque Don't forget the cotter pin. They can come off without it and don't ask me how I know... Quote
