48P15Annie Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Is it safe to run a bottle of FI/Carb cleaner through the gas thank (ie Gumout, Lucas etc)? Picked up all of my stuff to change the oil...got a Napa Gold filter, instead of Fram. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 If you don't have a catalytic converter, I don't see what could be damaged. Quote
Don Coatney Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 If it makes you feel good go for it. Quote
55 Fargo Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 If it makes you feel good go for it. Only if you take a sip or 2 or 3 or heck empty the bottle. I am partial to Seafoam, some like Jack Daniels, or Crown Royal better......... Quote
pflaming Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 You can actually drink that stuff and it won't hurt your kidneys?? Quote
T120 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) I have lived probably longer than I should have in reasonably good health after being exposed to all sorts of chemicals and hazardous substances (legal) both in the workplace and at home without using proper care. More information is available today and I am a little more cautious.MSDS information can be found on pretty well everything.I wouldn't use it for any purpose other than what is written on the label and observing any precautions regarding safe handling...I had carb cleaner dissolve nitrile gloves.I don't think I'd drink the stuff..Drinking whisky in moderation should be okay though Edited March 28, 2012 by Ralph D25cpe added legal...industrial stuff Quote
