I have a 48 D24 3 window coupe. I believe that the hood and trunk lid and glass may be interchangeable with the 42, but the doors are not. The 42 front fenders end before the doors, but the 46-48 front fenders mold into the doors. I believe that the cars are the same length, and therefore the stainless body moldings should fit. Perhaps Shelbusy can chime in with an answer.

Here's a photo of my 42 D22 3 window. Maybe someone else here with a D24 3 window will post a similar photo for comparrison.

I've never had them or the wiper motor. A previous owner removed them but never replaced.

The hood side trim looks the same. Rocker molding too maybe.

thanks for all the info guys, my 42 3 window is missing the cowl trim, and the quarter trim, i i have a lead on some 46 47 or 48 trim, don't know the exact yr but is for those three yrs of 3 windows, just hoping and thinking that they may match up with the existing 42 trim that is on the car.

If it helps the beltline trim for 42 plymouths will physically fit 46-48 plymouths but they don't match in pattern. So if you had the entire set of 46-48 you could use it on a 42 etc. The 42 plymouths trim has a line indented in it that the 46-48s don't have.

Hood side trim has different numbers for '42 versus '46-48 in my parts book. Therefore, other body trim on the cowl, doors, and behind the doors will be different as well. You will either have to find correct '42 trim or change over all of the body line trim from a similar '46-48. Good luck with the project. Personally, I would like to find the correct trim. I know it's scarce because it's a '42 but then again there is not a lot of demand for what is out there either. Try Moore's Salvage in South Dakota.
