I have contacted the Shrock brothers out of Coalport PA they said that if I get them a reasonably good seal to copy they can reproduce them. I will be meeting up with them at York for the Studebaker swap meet in March it will take them some time to make it but they will.

On the carpet, I had mine made by a interior man. I don't think you can order it as the P-9 and P-10 did not have carpet in them.

Good to know on both counts....actually, mine had rear carpet only, I just want some up front too.

Check with Steele Rubber Products. If they don't have it they may be willing to make them if there is enough interest.

I reported in an earlier post that my source was Bill Call in Calif. who is a POC member. The post gave contact info also. I have a 40 Ply and it worked great. If you can't find post, let me know & I will look him up.

I have an old one that can be used as a model for a CA co (MetalRubber) that could make some up for us. we need to get together as many '40 Plymouth owners as possible to spread out the costs, then I can get us a quote./QUOTE]

I see a post in April with regard to Bill Call and in February with regard to Shrock Brothers, so are either of these sources producing the draft seal for the '40? Thanks!

I saw this post and ment to address it. The person that was going to make the seal for us has a family emergency. I called and he said he was very busy with his sick wife. I will wait until he has time to get back to me. i know some have been waiting however these guy's have been real good to me and they have my patterns. I am sure they will make them. Until then I have just....stuck a sock in it:cool:for the time being.

I was going to post the research I have been doing in locating an alternative product for the 1940 (e.g., a steering column seal from a 1940 Pontiac, for example) but it appears there is really nothing left to due but to exercise patience. With regard to your alternative, Rodney, people have been telling me to "put a sock in it" for years. But that's an entirely different story....

Ok guy's, I talked to Dave Kruse today, he is at a show in California ( 85 degress ) I am so mad    He said he was going to tool up for that seal. He asked me to e-mail him at krusn64@aol.com to get on his list and he will contact us as to when the seal will be ready. So I hope all that want one please let him know we need them.

I need one of these for my 40.  Do we just email him and ask to be put on the list?  Any idea on cost?  If they are reasonable, may pick up two.  One to try cutting and a spare in case that does not work.

I bought several parts from him off ebay at the start of my 50 Ply. Suburban and later direct. Very happy of the quality and fit. Prices not cheap (reasonable in years past- 6?) but compared to something Steele would change they were!

I restored my seal for my 1940 D 14 using Flex Seal black in a spray can. The results were impressive since the whole centre part was gone. The seal looks like a freshly reproduced part. Since this is a spray you must build the surface with many applications leaving a lot of time at room temperature to set up. Once set up this product creates a tough rubberized surface.
