BobT-47P15 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Taken by HAMBer "Bad Bob", who usually takes some good pics at shows. The majority of pics taken by hot rodders are of Fords and Chevs, but they sometimes toss in Chrysler products. Always glad when they do. Anyone see a Chevy?? To be continued......... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 14, 2011 Author Report Posted December 14, 2011 A modified P15 coupe here. He will post more later......said he took about 300 shots. I know not everyone likes customized or modified cars, but I think it's fun to see what others have done - like it or not. At least these cars are on the road, not rusting in a field somewhere. Socal48 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I was just checking those out on the hamb...I like the way that last one sits Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) Another P15. And an older Plymouth. Edited December 15, 2011 by BobT-47P15 Quote
Socal48 Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 I like the way the red one has the trim ends just peeking out the side of the headlights...I was planning and removing mine but wasn't sure how too fill the opening on the headlight trim...till now. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Older plymouth is a 39 with a sealed beam conversion and some odd lights added on top of the fenders. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) the selection of fender mounted turn signal assemblies seems right at home on the car in my opinion....I think they are within the 'period'..... little additions like this will set your car off a bit from the average vehicle if you are not one that has to be pruistically correct. Young Ed Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Lights mounted on top like that always makes me think GM. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Odds are they be GM in origin..but in 40 Chrysler started placing the lamps on top of fenders seems to have lasted 40-41...some of these lights are very hard to find might I add....I am still looking for a set to go on the 41 Dodge Town Sedan. desoto1939 Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 The 1939 Dodge had fender lamps that were either all chrome plated and had a milk white lens or the lamp was paited the color of the car. These same fender lamps were alos used on the 39 Desoto when they were sent over to Europe. I have attached a picture of my 39 DeSoto that has these auxillary fender lamps. I conveted mine to be the turn signals. I f look at your parts books in the accessories section you can get some ideas of what was used. This is how I found that the same lights were used on both cars. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
