55 Fargo Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Here ya go, truck and car outside, both running, both had short drives today, the gravel road is bare and frozen. I drove the truck for the 1st time yesterday about 4 miles.... Quote
1940plymouth Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Good to see both of them again. I bet you enjoyed the four miles in the truck, I sure know I would have:) We have some snow on the ground here, but not the amount you have Quote
greg g Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 I wish they would leave the roads around here like that, Frozen dirt roads are so much fun. Just to much salt and slush around here. But luckily no significant sow yet, we are about 18 inches behind average, ad about 3feet behind last year. I'd be driving the stuff out of that truck. Quote

Hardly any snow here either Greg, and what fell most melted a few weeks back. It is much colder here than your area, are weather is identical to North dakota and Minnesota, so way too cold for most, although almost a million people live in and around the Winnipeg area, 1 of the coldest cities in the world. We had way ore snow last year to, and we need some here beofre the -30 weather sets in next month, were good for a couple of weeks of that every year, but we are lucky, -30 one week, and 30 farenheit sometimes the next.. oldodge41 Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Glad you got the truck drive-able so quickly. Nice job. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Looks like fun, Fred. I too am pleasantly surprised to see the truck on the road so quickly. Have you got the heater working?? How about a few more pictures of the truck interior, box, etc. I don't think we have seen those yet. Quote

The box wood needs to be all re-done, have not made up my mind which way to procedd, but it will be on the cheapest. The interior is not done, juts a seat and gauges in place. I have not plumbed in the heater, as I want to clean and paint it first. I just have her back togther, and driveable, so it can be moved in and out of the garage. Now without wanting to start anyone debating, the 12 volt, with manual choke is, lets see, uh FANTASTIC. This engine starts so easy, when cold or hot, as good as my modern vehicle. The 47 witha very clean and in great condition 6 volt set-up, does not start and fire up like this, no comparison, the 12 volts starter spins like a MF. Need the following, for a DMV safety certification, complete exhaust, all lighting rewired, heater installed, better tries, front brake hoses, and maybe more like brake drum measurements??, shocks, weld up rear of cab, wipers?, side mirrors, and some other items. So far from roadworthy yet, farm road for tests, and yard movement..... Quote
