JohnTeee Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 I've been searching the forums the last half hour and have not found a definitive answer to . . . what did the original P15 Oil Filter/Breather Cap look like? Or is that another topic like the bypass oil filter, where it varied from time to time? I have these three: The one on the left is currently installed. Since I have a Dodge Truck Engine, it's not like it's critical or anything, but I figured since I did have three . . . Cheers! John Quote
greg g Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 The one onthe right is the one I had on my 46 engine, the one inthe middle loks like what is on the 56 motor, and the left one appears to be from late 30's through early 40's and as you mentioned trucks. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Yup Greg nailed it. The filler tube is also different for the one on the left. It has a disk around it to make a base for the cap. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 One on the right is the correct one for you car. Quote
wldavis3 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 The one on the right is also on my car. Quote
JohnTeee Posted December 12, 2011 Author Report Posted December 12, 2011 Thanks guys. Found some good guides to cleaning caps in old threads, so I'm going to get lit in the near future. Cheers! John Quote
Jim Shepard Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 The one on the right is the one on my B2B. The truck is pretty original so I'm thinking the cap is too. Quote

I believe after the job rated series they switched to the style on the right. My truck should probably have that beehive style but since it has a 52 plymouth car engine it has the style like the right. Quote
