I attended the Chrysler Expo 2011 show today at Mt Gravatt (about 12km south Brisbane) Australia and thought that others might be interested in some vehicle photos that I had my daughter take - see link... http://s1095.photobucket.com/albums/i464/desotodav/Chrysler%20Expo%202011/ .

The judges were kind enough to issue me the award for 'top pickup' for my blue coloured 52 Desoto truck (photo attached) Yeh I know that it's a clock with a backwards photo of the 'Little Red Express' truck attached - but I appreciate the award just the same. My mate that I was there with was issued with the 'best streetrod' award for his gold coloured 29 Dodge delivery van.

It was a fun but exhausting day with bright sunshine, high winds and large dust clouds caused by the recently top-soiled field.

There were not too many older vehicles in attendance, but I think that my daughter did a pretty good job of photographing the ones of most interest.

Good to meet you DesotoDav, it was a good showing of cars, I pity the guys who had highly polished and plush upholstery with all that dust, but that's Oz for you.

Now to join the club and register mine

Greg, thats what happens when the market isn't big enough to justify building the latest model.........Chrysler in Oz got 55 Plymouth front & rear clips and essentially stuck them on the 53 body shell which was used up to 56 here in Oz. Then in 1957 the Oz Chrysler Royal AP1 version was released, the next version the AP2 came out in 1959-60 and the final version the AP3 still using the 1953 body shell was available 1961-62........we also got Plymouth Belvedere 4dr h/tops with the 318 poly only & Dodge Custom Royals & DeSoto's both as 4dr Sedans with the 350/361......these were all autos, whereas the Chrysler royals could be had with both 250 cube 6 or 313 poly V8..........more useless info.........lol......andyd
