greg g
technically its a ground effect vehicle not really an air plane but a vehicle that is designed to take advantage of the compression of air uder the wing but not so much as to provide lift but to reduce drag. Kinda like the opposite of all the aero whatchamacallits on F 1 cars but upside down. Can't imagine they would have been very maneuverable at speed. For something similar with a bit of upgraded techology look up the ships that are being designed for latoral patrol and attack. Not as fast but far more flexible.
