Plymouthy Adams Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Jim..I can helpyou arrange a second mortgage to help defray the cost of restoring your back yard. That's a Classic.. Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Hay Don, I am off this week working on the 48 when the earth shook. I thought the car started up on its own. Then I saw the 29 rocking back and forth on the car trailer. This is the third time I have felt an earthquake. This is the second time for the east coast and one time on the west coast when I was visiting in San Barbra. My wife thinks that if we keep pumping oil out of the ground we are all going to fall into a big black hole. She might be right, I can’t wait for the hurricane. Jim, Great photo, sorry for all the damage but the insurance company will not be able to argue with that picture. Chet… Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 Jim; First thing to do is contact FEMA so they can start bringing all those trailers up from Orleans as it appears you will need temporary housing until the repairs can be started. Be careful on the contractors you select as in these times of need there is a lot of shoddy work being done. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I think that in this area, all we're going to see of Irene is rain, which is OK with me. Last hurricane season, the wind knocked off the top of a big maple in my back yard, which then fell down into the power lines, tore them off the poles, and took the whole neighborhood off the grid. My 23-year-old pickup truck was right under it and didn't even get touched. My neighbor's brand new car got a branch through the back window. Then again, I think of Bob T's experience and I've got nothing at all to complain about. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 sad to say but this is probably the maximum amount of damage you could trust a federal agency to correct..please fill out the paper work in triplicate and got to the end of the line.." somewhere in Kentucky right now.." to file online line be sure to submit a paid internet provider contract proving valid service for the next three years so we know you are not wasting our time. Captain Neon Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I can just about imagine what every other Zionist dispensationalist church through out the USA will be preaching this Sunday... Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 HA!!! Me too! The Apocalypse might be televised but will there be anyone left to watch it? Everyone will be occupied getting their just desserts handed out to them, I imagine. Look out, Snooki and J-Wow. Quote
greg g Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Hey Randoid, according to the USGS something in Colorado moved also...... A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck 180 miles from Denver, Colorado, with tremors felt in the neighboring states of Kansas and New Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). It did not caused any major impacts save for some minor structural damage at homes near the epicenter and minor damages to highways nearby. Quote
randroid Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Greg, Yeah, we're supposing it was National Earthquake Day, but that one was way south in coal mining country so it was no biggie. What concerns us is earthquakes to the north around Yellowstone. One good one there and we're all history really quick. -Randy Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I have reposted this image to my facebook. Too funny not to share with others. Thanks for the laugh... Quote
greg g Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Looks like the potential for damage is going to much greater from Irene if it ollows its current track. Current wind sppeds in the Bahamas are 120 and increasing. Looks like from Wilmington NC to Bangor, Maine are in the track, and inland about 40 to 50 miles. hope everything is tied down and secure. Potetial for flash flooding is also high. Quote
