Jeff_DuBois Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Hello all, I am a noob to Dodge trucks and this forum. I have had 53-55 chevy trucks in my past but this truck was calling my name. It is pretty much rust free, having a frame off restoration in the 90's. Engine was rebuilt. It is a 1 ton dual rear wheels, I have never seen this before with the regular stepside bed ?.Does anyone know where I can get rear fenders and running boards , tailgate for this?. thanks. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Truck looks good. What carburetor is on it? 12 volt conversion? What part of the country are you in? Quote
Young Ed Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 They made 1 ton dually pickups but they are rare. Atleast for the 39-47 trucks they had the standard rear fenders with a spacer for the duals. And the running board had a triangle piece to extend it out to the edge of the new fender. Quote
Jeff_DuBois Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 Thank you, Its currently at my friends house, so i will have to get that info later. He is selling it to me. It has been converted to 12 volts. Right now we are having problems with the clutch, (wont go into gear, grinds when we try and shift it into gear). I live in Indiana. Quote
Frank Ollian Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Carb looks like a Stromberg BXVD-3 so it could be fluid drive. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 welcome! I MIGHT haev a tailgate for ya, a bit rough, but? It is from more of the '51 era, so someone here might know if one from my truck would fit yours. Quote
