Young Ed Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Cleaning off my camera memory card last night-here's some car show pictures from random shows so far this summer. Most are from N St Paul friday night cruise. Interesting grill treatment on a p15 54 Ford I was telling the wife how when I was in high school Dad had a 54 Ford 2dr sedan this same color. We walked a couple more blocks and found Dads actual old 54 Ford for sale. A falcon for Joe. FYI it was quite nice except for the seats being ratty and $3600. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 Wagons and more wagons sort of a wagon Quote
Young Ed Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 And some other random stuff Quote

Young Ed Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 What were they asking for the valiant??? Don't see many stripper two doors, and it looks to be in good shape. It didn't say and I never saw the owner Quote
randroid Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Ed, Thanks for the pics! Sometimes I think it's too bad I can still remember when most of them were new but then I can reflect on the changes made since then, some of which were positive. Looking at beautiful old cars will always be a pleasure. -Randy Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 A purple P15......you don't see many that color. Thanx for the pics. I once had a black 54 Ford convert with an I block six and automatic. Looked good, just not real fast on takeoff. Some guys I talked to claimed Ford never put a six in a 54 convertible.....but it all seemed factory to me. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 Bob look a little closer at that p15 grill. Dads 54 ford sedan was a Yblock 3spd with low mileage. The next owner yanked the engine and put a bigger Y block in. What a shame. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 It is a little taller than the average bear. Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 I thought it didnt look right. It has an extra short bar in it that doesnt belong. I was wondering how they got the front so low and had only a short rolled pan on it when I first looked at the picture. Kinda cool Quote
falconvan Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Great pics! I dont know about a purple P-15 with a deleted bumper, though. It's not doing much for me. That Chevy Kingswood wagon is really nice looking! Quote
Captain Neon Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 A purple P15......you don't see many that color. Thanx for the pics. Some guys I talked to claimed Ford never put a six in a 54 convertible.....but it all seemed factory to me. I had an "expert" tell me that he had never heard of a 6 in a '56 Dodge either. I seriously doubt that no one ever ordered an I-6 w/ auto in a '54 Ford convertible. School teachers immediately come to mind. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 People do crazy stuff for odd reasons. Dad knew a guy with a big v8 4spd in a ford wagon because his wife insisted on a wagon but didnt care about the rest. Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 I had an "expert" tell me that he had never heard of a 6 in a '56 Dodge either. I seriously doubt that no one ever ordered an I-6 w/ auto in a '54 Ford convertible. School teachers immediately come to mind. I had an all original 63 Impala SS 327 and powerglide with floor shift (I was the 3rd owner the 1st only owned it for 2 years). I talked to a guy that judges cars for points on originality. So I tell him the color for the car is Anniversary Gold. He refused to believe that the car came from the factory with that color because that was a 62 color. So I drove the car over to his house and he looked up the color by the factory tag on the car. He was shocked to find that Anniversary Gold was the color it came from the factory with. As the years go by people forget that you could order a car with things you wanted way back when.... Quote
