Several forum members have emailed me after receiving invitations to join LinkedIn, which is a social networking site for business professionals. A collegue invited me to join, and I guess I was careless enough to let the site send invites to those of you who are in my list of contacts. Please just decline the invitation if you are not interested. The site is harmless enough, even useful to some business professionals, but I know many of you want to reduce you internet footprint as much as possible. Anyway, my apologies...

On another note, I just returned from my niece's wedding in Texas to find that I have been laid off for the second time in eight years.

I'm keeping the running Pilothouse, but I also have two project vehicles that may have to go:

a 48 Club Coupe

a 52 DeSoto wagon

Also available:

a George Asche-built 265ci flathead (0 miles) w/dual carbs and headers

a George Asche-built overdrive (0 miles)

A dyno-tested rebuilt 318 (0 miles)

Brand-new Mopar Performance A-518 transmission

Lots of misc stuff, from chrome spoke wheels, re-plated bumpers, etc that may end up on eBay.

I know it's a bad time to sell, but with two kids in college, I would consider selling some of my projects (or parts) if anyone is interested.

Replated bumpers for what?? and you're a little far away but I'd love to see a picture of the desoto wagon? Does it have a hemi?

Tony;

I actually got 3 E-mail invites but they looked to be all canned messages so I trashed them. Sorry to hear of your job loss. I have been through that many times. In fact the day I stopped by your house driving my P-15 I was between jobs and had an interview in Cincinnati. I was offered the job but declined due to a better job I found right here on this forum. Networking works! Once a door closes another always opens. Sorry to hear you are selling your collection of stuff. Is the Desoto still a work in progress? I remember when you bought it. If memory serves me well you took a Greyhound bus about 400 miles to pick this car up and you drove it home.

sorry man, been there, done that. But I've found it generally means better things are on the way!

Thank you all for the encouragement. Finances will improve, I may even take the opportunity to go back to school myself. Which makes it even more likely that I will sell some toys.

I got some notices that I missed some Private Messages because my Mailbox was full. I cleaned out the box, so please resend your messages if you didn't get a reply.
