12 volt sealed beam headlamps

My 36 plymouth has 6 1/2 '' sealed beam headlamps. These are 6 volt

lamps. I am switching over to a 12 volt system. Where can I find these

6 1/2'' round sealed beams in 12 volts?

6 1/2"? The usual is 7" (The official designation is a PAR-56 meaning "parabolic aluminized reflector - 56/8s of an inch).

The 36 originally came with a bulb and reflector system so if it has sealed beams it was "upgraded" at some point in time. There are modern suppliers of 12v quartz-halogen bulbs that will fit in the original reflectors if you want to go back to the original look there is that possibility too.

Try Chevs of the 40s or a vintage Harley catalog, some of the springer front ends ran a 6.5" sealed beam.

If you find a source, carry spares... Industry standard is 7" singles, 5.25" duals.

The last ones I got were from Auto-zone. VW's used them forever.
