oldcarlover
My 36 plymouth has 6 1/2 '' sealed beam headlamps. These are 6 volt lamps. I am switching over to a 12 volt system. Where can I find these 6 1/2'' round sealed beams in 12 volts?

TodFitch
6 1/2"? The usual is 7" (The official designation is a PAR-56 meaning "parabolic aluminized reflector - 56/8s of an inch). The 36 originally came with a bulb and reflector system so if it has sealed beams it was "upgraded" at some point in time. There are modern suppliers of 12v quartz-halogen bulbs that will fit in the original reflectors if you want to go back to the original look there is that possibility too. Scruffy49
Try Chevs of the 40s or a vintage Harley catalog, some of the springer front ends ran a 6.5" sealed beam. If you find a source, carry spares... Industry standard is 7" singles, 5.25" duals.
Niel Hoback
The last ones I got were from Auto-zone. VW's used them forever.
