I recently removed the bowl type fuel pump on my '48 p-15 and replaced it with a 6 volt electric fuel pump and want to cover the opening where the fuel pump arm goes into the engine.............does anyone know where I can get one of those cover plates ?

Thanks

Mike

If you add a cover that's thinner than the flanges of the fuel pump, use shorter bolts. Otherwise they might get hit by the cam lobe. (Don't ask me how I know.)

I made one from 1/4 inch thick aluminum. I was thinking of making one of 1/4 thick clear fiberglass as a "sightglass" like my cycle has.

I covered mine with steel plate, but I like the idea of clear:D:cool:

Maybe a clear window with a small light behind it?

The "the musketeers" who ran Chrysler's engineering department in the 20s and 30s actually did that back when they all worked for Studebaker. That is how they found out that the dippers on splash feed lubrication systems were totally inadequate and why all their designs had full pressure lubrication.

That settles it. I'm doin' it! Put a hunnert watter in there and I won't need a block heater either!

I still think you will need a swiper and where you gonna find a 6-V hunnert watter?
