aero3113 Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Not sure if it is official yet but Osama Bin Laden has been killed!! Edited May 2, 2011 by aero3113
P-12 Tommy Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Obama at the White House just announced it's official!! About time!! Tom
PatS.... Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 It's a good day for the US, and freedom even though this fool cost us big time.
47heaven Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 The bad thing is that Osama has people already chosen to replace him in case of his death who could be even more ruthless. I'm sure Obama "the ham" will take full credit for this since it happened during his term in office.
P-12 Tommy Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Well, at least it happened on his watch. Nuff said. Tom
randroid Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 47, Yeah, and I could question why Reagan took credit for the 444 Iranian hostages released on his third day of Presidency, but then we'll start sparring and soon others will join in and we'll lose the great meaning of this post and eventually GTK will need to step in and tempers will fly and we'll get so damn worked up that we forget how to wrench on our cars or show pictures of those that don't need wrenching (today). Let's keep political opinion out of it, please. I think this is a great step forward for our Country and I'm happy to say that. Still friends? -Randy
YukonJack Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 But do we know it is true? Will we see the body? It wouldn't be the first time a politician tried to make themselves look good when they knew the voters were losing faith in them. I'm not convinced, yet. If it is true, should we expect retaliation?

The Western World will always be fighting the backward world of Islam. There will be brief periods of 'ceasefire', which only allows the enemy to regroup before they attack again. Your grand children and their children may live to see the day when Muslim men no longer believe they own their women.

I'm not going to debate it, Randy, even though it's a political issue. Yes, still friends, but I just don't like Obama, and though this is great news, Osama has more to take his place. I think Obama will use this as a perk towards his re-election campaign. Again, just my opinion, which we are still allowed to have, I believe.
Joe Flanagan Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Any president, Republican or Democrat, would do the same thing. It's what they do. I appreciate the total absence of politics on this site.
Captain Neon Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 I question the relevance of this thread. Its very core is political no matter how one wants to sugar-coat or spin the discussion. Just like the fortuitous timing announcing Saddam's capture (he had likely been in US captivity for months before the announcement judging by the photos of his capture), and there is evidence that Osama may have been dead for years. Poli-ticks. A Greek word meaning many blood suckers! I am with Randy that this thread and discussion may be of poor taste.
aero3113 Posted May 2, 2011 Author Report Posted May 2, 2011 "I am with Randy that this thread and discussion may be of poor taste." I posted this not for everyones political views but for the 2,966 people that lost their lives on 9-11, I think everyone should think outside the box on this one....

Charlie Olson Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Why do some people complain about a thread like this; when all they have to do is not read it. No one is demanding that any one read any thread. 911 affected all of our lives and if car crazy friends can't do a little venting/remembering/sharing; then we have allowed political correctness to trump personal connection.
Captain Neon Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 "I am with Randy that this thread and discussion may be of poor taste."I posted this not for everyones political views but for the 2,966 people that lost their lives on 9-11, I think everyone should think outside the box on this one.... How many people have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since the beginning of the War on Terror not to mention the number of people that have died or disappeared under suspicious circumstances these past 9 years or so? There is some pretty good evidence that bin Laden died nine years ago of natural causes.
Captain Neon Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 The Western World will always be fighting the backward world of Islam. There will be brief periods of 'ceasefire', which only allows the enemy to regroup before they attack again. Your grand children and their children may live to see the day when Muslim men no longer believe they own their women. Remind me again how well the Crusades went? I don't remember Jesus or his Twelve Disciples marching into a city with an army and requiring people to convert or die. Since politics are fair game to day, I might as well respond to the religion that's been interjected as well.
