Drdialtone Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I have purchased a couple of Hull Auto Compasses, and the both seem to not work. I've looked and fiddled with the N/S E/W adjustment screws, but this does not seem to make any difference. Do these things just go bad? I assume that they are magnetic north devices. The fluid is mostly full, so that the float of the directional indicator appears to move freely. Anybody have any ideas about this? Curious! Quote

Curious! given the fluid is there..next question that comes to mind is the area you testing this device..remember, magnetic devices/metal will mess up readings on any compass..take it outside in an open area for test and cal.. Drdialtone Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 Thanks Tim. Maybe that's what I've been doing wrong... trying to adjust "in" the car. Thanks!!! Quote
aero3113 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I gave this one to Fred (Rockwood), he said at first it was not working correctly then it started working for him. Not sure if he did anything to fix it but you should ask him if he doesn't see this post. Quote

Don Coatney Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 It waas closer to Magnetic north at Fred's..... Close only counts in horseshoes and hand gernades. Having witnessed a CAN/AM horseshoe tournament it appeared there was more closeness south of the border. Quote
