Should be great weather. I believe sunny and in the 80's. Good thing you have plenty of shade tree's in the yard. I spoke with Don C yesterday and I am going to try to make it to ride down in the caravan (hope no one minds my Government Motors suv in the line up in the mix).

Sounds like your baked bean recipe for the more daring may rival the infamous

"Cowboy Bubblebath" recipe ;)

1 lb. bacon

3 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped

1 each green, red, yellow bell peppers, chopped

2 large white onions, chopped

2 (15 oz.) cans white beans

2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans

2 (15 oz.) cans black beans

1 (15 oz.) can garbanzo beans

1/2 cup dark molasses

1 tbsp. liquid smoke

1 tbsp. onion powder

salt and pepper to taste

Crisp bacon in deep skillet. Crumble and set aside.

Pour off excess fat and lightly fry all peppers and onion in

about 2 tablespoons bacon drippings. Partially drain all

beans. Save liquid. Combine all ingredients in deep

roaster. At this point, you can set the whole thing aside

overnight if you wish. Bake for 3 hours at 350°. Add some

of the reserved bean juice if the pot gets too dry.

As an apprentice many years ago I happened to be working with an old fella who had come from a farm background in Saskatchewan. One day,he cut a rather noisy one and good naturedly uttered the following phrase,"a horse that farts will never tire,a man that farts is the man to hire" :D

Greetings from Atlanta, touched down about an hour ago. Looking forward to meeting Don tomorrow AM at the hotel and more soon after.

Glad to hear there's a Jalapeno-less pot planned... some Canadian tummies are a bit on the delicate side!
