I'm looking at installing the 6v LED for signalling/brake/rear lights.I've read several posts and there seems to be an issue with getting the LEDs to flash using the conventional filament type flasher.Has anyone had any luck ordering a 6v electronic flasher and making it work with the pos grd LEDs from Superbrigntled.com

?They do advertise some flashers on their site but admit that the flashers are not their area of expertise.I have the 7 wire Stat 900 unit with the supplied 3 prong flasher and would like to retain the same 3 prong set up with an electronic type if possible.

I searched high and low for a 6v electronic flasher when I was building my truck and came up empty. I have LED's from SuperBrightLEDs up front but kept conventional 6v bulbs at the rear. With this arrangement my thermal flasher works just fine. If you are running LED's all around you may have to add resistors into the circuit or add some additional conventional bulbs into the circuit and hide them where they won't be seen. I believe SuperBright sells some load resistors that will help make thermal flashers work.

first off..are they legal in your country..only one maker in the US is DOT approved that I know of at the moment..these lamps are 12 volts by the way...and at 320 US dollars a headlamp..cannot see the justification..maybe down the road when these items beocme old-hat..the cost will also come into line...

the round 7 inch "sealed" headlamps are a standard design and should be a shoe in for your car..this includes the H4 Euro and such..now surface deisng, plastic and glass crystals cut and such varies from make to make..at one time the DOT would not allow the Euro style here, flat lenses and such..but seeing as how those idiots did allow use of blastic headlights..I say anything that sheds light is an imporvement over todays "moulded design"

However, NO "HID" has been approved for retrofit into any previous design lens or headlight body and if they choose to eforce this...regardless of the stated "off-road use" the fines are high to both the retailer and end user..its a lawyers dream come true..imagine a person getting seriously injured because they claimed they were blinded by the light of a retro fit HID and not properly aimed lenses..yessir..truly a lawyer's dream come true..

There definitely is such a thing as too much light. I cringe every time I see one of those blue-whites coming up, from in front or behind. Definitely blinding whether properly focused or not. I've had to turn the rear views to keep the reflections away when they're behind me. Kind of like looking at welding without eye protection. I'm going to use Halogen on the front and standard bulbs on the rear. LED/s look out of place on these old trucks. JMO.
