Bob_Koch Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Nicely Done. Looks like you made your own strips. Nice. Quote
Dave72dt Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Very well done. Must be close to going on the road. Especially like the third picture. Fitted boards and polished bed sides. Quote
48Dodger Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Ok....I've never had a 49 1 ton truck. Do all the 1 tons have a tire humps on the inside of the bed? Good looking project! 48D Quote
52b3b Joe Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 That looks great! I'm hope mine will come out that nice! Quote

Good looking project! 48D I think they did. Bed is wider by about 5 inches, I think. Typical of manufacturers in those years. I know Ford did the same thing. Also means the front panel and tailgate is wider so you have to work with what you have or find some donors. Quote

Yup...friend of mine was looking to "get rid of" some 4"x8' polished stainless steel.Gladly took them off his hands, had them cut to size(1 1/2"),then drilled and counter sunk the holes using the old bed strips holes as a template..worked out well. Good looking project! 48D 3/4 & 1 ton trucks have those wheel wells in the bed because the beds are wider as was said earlier. Merle Quote
