kbuhagiar Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 I don't remember any such thing, never seen or heard of a small block wedge motor. i think i would need to see it to believe it. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 the wedge defines the head combustion chamber shape, when the A went from poly (semi hemispherical) to the LA design the head went to a wedge shape. The wedge is not anything special in the small block..it was not used like in the case of the 426 engine where you had the wedge and also a hemi head...the WEDGE lettering on the 340 was just a cosmetic applique..nothing special about it...of course we all know the 340 got the big valves..but the same head design (large ports) carried to the 360 as far as power goes..one but has to change the valve seats to pump these up..the later E58 Police Interceptor was based on the 360 block, with stock 360 heads but with the 340 cam, dual roller timing chain, windage tray and dual plane stock cast iron intake manifold.. Young Ed Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Good one Ed, What year and what car? Big block only! HeHe! 1958 fury optional engine. Guy in our POC chapter has one. Quote
dezeldoc Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Ed, you got it, now were any made with dual quads? Quote
Young Ed Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Yup with oval shaped gold air cleaners. I believe the non optional engine had dual quads too. Or could have them. Quote
dezeldoc Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Now for the question Ed, do you want to buy one? in stock ready for immediate delivery! Quote
dezeldoc Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Just the motor, unless you have a big pile of $$ for the car. My buddy turned down the studios when they wanted to buy it for the Christine movie. it looks just like the movie car, he has owned it since it was 2 years old. Quote

What he said. Chrysler used the "Wedge" designation for their Max Wedge 413 and 426 engines back in the early sixties and then I don't recall them using the term until the 71 340 Duster. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Alright I have no idea what I'd do with it but I gotta ask how much? Quote
