Hey guys, Yesterday something in my hand brake lever let loose and now the lever won't stay put.:( The trigger is laying flat. Could the spring that holds the locking jaw be broken? I've done the search and can't find an exploded view of the hand brake lever assembly. My books don't have a diagram. I want to see what I need to fix it.

Thanks, Tom

Not to hijack the thread but thought this might be a good time to chime in.

Someone a while back posted a picture of a hand brake they modified to use on modern rear wheel emergency brakes. I have searched threads but can't seem to locate it. They had it in a pickup with a jeep or charger rear as I recall. Anyone have an idea who did it?

I don't think it would really even require modification. Just hook the OEM cable up to some cables from the rear end. Might require custom making an intermediate cable.

Here are some pics of maybe what you have. Maybe that special spring broke?

I'm not sure if they still sell it, but at one point Lokar had a kit to do exactly that.
