I would look at turbo/ supercharger suppliers for their universal ducting kits. Straight tubing with flexible connectors. An F-3 I did several years ago had what appeared to me to be standard 3" galvanized round dryer vent or gas furnace exhaust tubing complete with elbows and sheet metal screws to lock in place.

Are you sure Barry? Every one I have seen is 4". Here's a firewall valve I have.

Reg: Yes, I am sure. See attached photo. I am working on a '51 B3C with a Model 504 heater. They must be different for other year trucks.

The 504 heater is a OE accessory heater for the B series trucks! Pretty rare to see one I guess.

Could that be from a car ? The factory knock out on the firewall is only ~4"

Reg:The hole in my firewall is 4-1/2" and the metal intake at the grill is 4", but there is a 1/2" factory installed collar on the intake, bringing the diameter to 5". The 504 heater is detailed on page 1-6 of the parts manual.

Dan: I found the 5" duct on the website you mentioned, but it is $81 and that is more than I want to spend at this point. Also, it is sold in 10' lengths (as you probably know), and that is about twice what I need. Therefore, I will look at any other options I have before jumping in at $81. Thank you for the tip.

Sure is. I've only ever seen the Model 62 and 65 fresh air heaters. The 504's must be hiding with the 610T radios.

Yes, I have the heater but it is all apart and primed. I also have the Heater switch (two position), and the cable, and it works. I am about to take the core to our radiator shop so he can do his thing. I will put all the components on a table this afternoon and take a picture. Perhaps that will be helpful.

I have attached 5 photos (I think). The first three show the heater on the truck and the last two show the components (except for the knob/switch/cable which I forgot) bead blasted and primed. After I get the core back, I will reassemble the unit and put it away on my shelf. I am sure that it will stay there for a LONG while.

That's an interesting looking heater. I don't believe I've ever seen one like that used on these trucks. It seems odd, though, that the fan isn't centered on the rest of the heater unit (according to the marks left on the firewall from where it was mounted).

You are right, it is odd. Also, the flow through the 5" duct is collected in the rectangular opening that you see and then goes into the squirrel cage fan. Also, the inside unit (motor, fan, defrost ducts) is only attached with three machine screws into the firewall. It looks like a bad design.

I just got to thinkin- remembering, that I parted out a 52 Saratoga with that same heater system in it a few years back!

Here is part of what it looks like...
