O K...........

So what did Howard do with that rather odd looking thing?

Looks like somebody would have been standing on the front platform.

Maybe high speed artificial insemination on his ranch.:D

The article says it was built at the factory, and presented to HH. But looking at that thing reminds me of something the Powell Brothers might have built. And since their production facility was close to the movie studios I might think that more likely than the Chrysler factory putting them together.

I was in a car museum in Las Vegas about 10 to 15 years ago and they had a '54 or so Dodge, I think, might have been Chrysler but I think Dodge, that was supposed to have been Howard Hughes' car. Pretty well equipped with air and some special equipment. Like many there, it was for sale, I seem to recall under $5K.

I'll have to say, I toyed with the idea of buying it. I don't think my wife would have been too excited about driving 1000 miles back in a 50 year old car.

So, I wonder, was HH a true Mopar fan?to 15

I think that may be the car I saw in the Imperial Palace collection a few years ago. It is a 54 Chysler 4 door with a/c in the trunk because the car was sealed to keep outside air from getting inside. Howard Hughes wanted a bacteria free environment to ride around in.
