old rat 49 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Had to pressurize tank to get it started this morning. Hasn't started in about 4 days. Bowl was empty and wouldn't pump fuel until I did that. Drove it arround the block and it quit. Bowl empty again. Will sit and idle for much longer period of time but go down the road and it runs dry. Pump not up to snuff or what ? Now that the power discs are functioning properlyshe stops on a dime. That was the best part of the test drive. The pushing it back to the driveway wan't. Quote
oldodge41 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Could be the pump. Could also be sucking air somewhere through a bad piece of fuel line. I had an issue with mine doing that years ago and it turned out to be some junk in the tank floating around and occasionally blocking the fuel pick up in the tank. Quote
busycoupe Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 I was having a problem with the pump holding a prime, and running poorly. I replaced the fuel pump but had the same problems. Finally I discovered that the fuel line had pinholes in it where it went over the rear wheel arch. I replaced about a foot of the line with rubber and it has been fine since. Replacing the metal fuel line is on my "to do" list. Quote
old rat 49 Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 Replaced all the brake lines. Will check fuel lines in the morning. Quote
